To have balance in one's life is to be able to look at the outcomes of life. for example when you are someone's mother, getting up early before the sunrises is done to ensure the outcome that your children have a good morning meal, that they are dressed and that their day starts without drama.
What about exercising? Going for a twenty minute walk everyday or exercising the power to read a good book on finance (Suze Orman's or David Bach come to mind), is looking at the outcome of greater physical health or financial health.
But most people would prefer to lay in bed, covers over head, or tell you how boring books on money management are, because they aren't looking at outcomes...they are simply looking at the 'process' for themselves.
In other words, the process is too much from them. Show me a person who looks at the process of life and I'll show you someone who will forever be dependent on other people, and systems for the rest of their lives.
Balance is the ability to look at everything we do in life by the outcomes produced. Taking the time to cook a good, healthy meal for you or your kids is about the outcome of good health. Popping some corndog, nuggets or other in the microwave is about - you and your avoidance of the process.
Today, I know this to be true; life balances itself out when we have an equal opportunity of process and outcome. In other words, when we realize it's the process of doing that makes us better human beings, better parents, better people, better selves. When we avoid the process...we avoid life.
Have a great weekend
