Solid as a Rock

#WOTD: Emotional Stability - Solid as a Rock
Stability, stabilité, estabilidad, stabilità.

“Always remember, the storm is a good opportunity for the oak, the pine tree and the little cypress to show their strength and their stability."

The saying 'emotional stability' always finds me musing over two words that mean absolute contradicitions when put together.  Emotions  taken in the literal context is energy in motion.  You know, things like anger, angst, racism, prejuidice, hatred, and yes love are all emotions that propel us forward into some action.  But stability means to be at rest, firmly rooted in strength.

E-motion is not at rest.  So how do we stabilize these forces that move us into action?  How do we stabilize our fear's, or stabilize our pains?

We do so by knowing that so much of what is best in us is bound up in our love of family.  And that love of our families remains the measure of our stability because it measures our sense of loyalty and our sense of dedication.

All other forms of love or fear derive from it and are modeled based upon it.   Our e-motional stability and even our emotional instability can lead us to be the best we can be in this life, when we choose to understand that when we are rooted as firmly as a cypress during a storm in unstable times...it's the love we learned from family that gives us the strength to hold on.

Today, know this to be true, If we are to achieve our dreams, become financially secure, achieve stability and security for our families and leave our children better off than ourselves, we will learn to expect the unexpected, be prepared to be disrupted, and then wait to be transformed, holding onto the love of family.

Think about it!
Happy Friday
