Which way did he go...which way did he go. Standing at the crossroad

#WOTD: Standing at the crossroad

Crossroad, incrocio, cruce de caminos, Carrefour. "

The crossroad of yesterday and tomorrow...the present moment." - Yolanda

We stand at an intersecting crossroad in each moment of our lives, at the intersection of past street and future street, on present road.  Past street has pot holes, and road blocks.  Future street is smooth and paved with gold. Which road will you take?

Like most of you I loved the Wizard of Oz as a child.  "We're off to see the Wizard...Follow the yellow brick road." What's interesting about all the imagery in the Wizard of Oz is that it's a story about the power of presence.  About showing up and being powerful in your own life.

Dorothy always wanted to turn back on the yellow brick road and go back to what she knew (her past dangers)...but the thrill and excitement of possibly seeing the Wizard and making her dream come true (of going home) kept her going.

We're like that.  We want to revisit the past often because no matter how painful...it gives us comfort.  It gives us some kind of peace of mind to think that we can fix it.  We relive old dramas and play out in our hearts and heads how we would handle it now.

What we fail to realize is that the past is dead and over.  No matter how many times we choose to relive it.  The ending of it will always be the same.  But the yellow brick road we are on...well that can have a different and far better ending, if like Dorothy we just keep going.

Today, know this to be true, At every crossroad on the path that leads to our future, evil has placed haters to guard the past. Yet, like Dorothy when we throw water from our hearts, have faith and believe in our future...we will hear this from our past as it slowly gets further and further behind us..."I'm melting, I'm melting" (said in my best evil witch voice).

Think about it.
