Decide today to decide today!

#WOTD  Decide today to decide today!

Decisive, décisif,decisivo.

"The cure for most obstacles...Be decisive." - Yolanda

One of my pet peeves is 'wishy washy' people.  You know someone who stands in agreement with you on something today, but tomorrow will tell you they've talked to so and so and they think they will take a different stand.

Personally that's why I dislike most politicians.  Many if not most never stand on their own personal platforms, but always seem to have a foot on someone else's, just in case that other person is offering them, "a deal they can't refuse."

Being decisive really is the cure for most obstacles we face in life.  Being decisive is being focused.  Christ said blessed are the meek.  And while most people will take that word meek to mean without strength...it's really the opposite.

It means being focused and decisive.  Did you know its the word that is used to define a domesticated stallion.  No way in the world is a stallion weak and without strength.  It means the horse is trained, focused and decisive.  That's how it wins races.

We are admonished, "be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God is."

Being decisive is having strength and focused direction.   It means having your own mind and sometimes not following the crowd.  But, the most decisive actions of our lives are most often the most unconsidered actions...because we are looking out and not within.
Today, know this to be true; being decisive is sticking to right and just decisions.  Blessed are those who know what on earth they are here on earth for and are about doing that and have quit applying for God's and other people's jobs.

Discipline Yourself

  Discipline, disciplina.

"Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion." - Jim Rohn

I like this saying by Jim Rohn.  It reminds me of all the mantras I have quoted along the journey of life without seeing nary a change in me or in my life.  This is, not until I understood the purpose I had been given in this life.

I believe in positive psychology and in affirmations.  Words are the greatest mystery that God has ever given us.  What other animal can talk?  None.  In the beginning was the Word.  And that word was about creating life.  It was, 'let us make light', 'let us make man in our own image' and so on.

If you think about it, those words were all positive.  And they were something else, they were done with discipline.  They were spoken with discipline that created life.

Discipline is upholding and continuing a consistent and well-ordered life through positve thought, words and actions, regardless of how we feel.

Yes, trouble will come.  Yet, in the midst of it all, if you know and understand that you can remain consistent and disciplined, life carries you through whatever that circumstance is.

Today, know this to be true; Strive for order and discipline in life, it breeds habits - which will keep you in the worst of times.  But relish the chaos and valleys, for with your disciplined habits, those are the times that will breed new life.

Have a beautiful Thursday!

Please be Discreet

#WOTD: Please be Discreet

Discreet, discreto.

“We are discreet sheep; we wait to see how the drove is going, and then go with the drove” - Mark Twain

In today's secular world of language we have made the word discreet, a dirty little word.  Being discreet today is more apt to be applied to relationships that are forbidden and gossip, rather than what the word truly means.

Discreet or discretion is the ability to not bully people with our personality or actions, or even with sound and right opinions.  It is giving serious respect, attention, and thought to what we say and do.
But, be careful as Mark Twain points out to not let being discreet paralyze you into inactivity and you end up simply following the crowd and passing along the latest gossip.
I love how the great Pharaoh King put it when he was talking about Joseph, who had interpreted his dream.  Joseph didn’t go about bragging about what he had done or how much he could do…he was discreet.
“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?  And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, For as much as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art; Thou shall be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”
Today, know this to be true; Wisdom comes in discretion.  Wisdom comes through being and acting discreet in the direction you are being led.  Or as Ben Franklin so aptly put it, “In a discreet man’s mouth, a public thing is private.”

Have a great Wednesday!
