#WOTD: Patience is more than a virtue...it is a necessity

Patience, pazienza, paciencia.

"A man who is a master of patience is master of everything else." - George Savile

In the spiritual sense, patience means to stop ourselves from despairing and panicking, and to stop our tongues from complaining.  God is often more patient with us than we are with ourselves.  Sometimes we assume that if we fall, we can't get up or that if we stumble and make a mistake we can't be forgiven.

I have come to understand this about patience in myself...to doubt myself is to doubt God.  The book of Proverbs says, “He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.” When we fall if we can turn off the conversations of doubt and fear, if we can operate with a calm and patient spirit towards ourselves...we can and will move right into the victory God had planned for us all along.

Today know this to be true;  Patience is hope made manifest.  It is the ability to stand on the sidelines, and hear the music playing, when your whole being is wanting to get on the dance floor to take your turn.
